With two games out of the way for all the teams – three for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after Monday’s washout and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as well – it’s a good time to get started with our daily look at the Orange Cap and Purple Cap tables at IPL 2026. Here’s how things stand.
Leading the table of top run-scorers is a slightly unexpected name, but Sameer Rizvi, after 51 runs in IPL 2024 and 121 in IPL 2025, has started off with a bang.
Rizvi, the Delhi Capitals (DC) No. 4, batted in chase on both occasions, and won the match for his team on both occasions, the first, against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with 70 not out from 47 balls and the second, against Mumbai Indians (MI) with 90 from 51. Both those innings won him the Player-of-the-Match award too, putting him in an elite list.
A little way below Rizvi’s 160 runs is Heinrich Klaasen‘s 145 for SRH, though from three innings. He has looked good each time he has gone out, scoring 31, 52 and 62 at a combined strike rate of 147.95. And behind him with 113 runs is Rohit Sharma, the MI talisman who has 113 runs from two hits, including a 38-ball 78 against KKR.
Three other batters are past the 100-run mark already: Devdutt Padikkal of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with 111, Cooper Connolly of PBKS with 108, and KKR’s Angkrish Raghuvanshi with 103.
Four bowlers are tied at five wickets apiece at this stage.
One of them is Ravi Bishnoi, whose 4 for 41 took Rajasthan Royals (RR) to victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) – that was also one of only two four-fors in the competition so far, KKR’s Blessing Muzarabani returning identical figures against SRH. Bishnoi has the Purple Cap at this stage.
The others are PBKS’ Vijaykumar Vyshak, RCB’s Jacob Duffy, and CSK’s Anshul Kamboj, all quick bowlers.
