Toss Jammu & Kashmir opt to bowl vs Rest of India

Jammu & Kashmir captain Paras Dogra won the toss and opted to bowl against the Rishabh Pant-led Rest of India in the Irani Cup game in Srinagar.

Dogra wanted his bowlers to take advantage of the “fresh wicket”. With Auqib Nabi, who made his international debut on Wednesday, away with the India squad, J&K played Umar Nazir Mir and Lone Nasir.

Pant said he also wanted to bowl first.

The pitch at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar had a good covering of green grass. It was a surface on which fast bowlers should revel, especially with the new ball, given the early-morning moisture.
