Half-centuries from Anika Learoyd and Courtney Webb helped Australia A whitewash India A 3-0, as the visitors won the third T20 by seven runs in New Chandigarh.

After opting to bat, Australia A started steadily but lost both openers inside the powerplay, following which Learoyd and Webb came together to put up a solid stand. Learoyd struck five fours and three sixes in her 42-ball stay, making 61 runs. Webb made 52 off 42 balls, hitting five boundaries and one six. It was left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma who broke the 100-run stand, having Webb caught in the 17th over. Sayali Satghare removed Learoyd in the 20th over as Australia A posted 168 for 5 in 20 overs.

India A openers Vrinda Dinesh and Tejal Hasabnis started positively in the chase, putting up an 84-run stand in 7.4 overs but Sianna Ginger broke through, removing Hasabnis for 42. Vrinda then brought up her half-century in the 11th over, but India lost captain Anushka Sharma in the same over. Lilly Mills then handed India a double blow, dismissing Minnu Mani and Niki Prasad in the 14th over.

India A then lost the last six wickets for 29 runs, and were bowled out for 161 with one ball remaining in the innings.

The teams will now play three one-dayers followed by a one-off unofficial Test in Dharamsala.
