Toss Indonesia opt to bowl vs Bangladesh

Indonesia won the toss in their first-ever Asia Cup appearance and asked Bangladesh to bat in Dubai.

Bangladesh left out opener Taj Nehar, who was part of the last T20I they played – the World Cup group game against South Africa in June – and brought in Dilara Akter. There were no other surprises in the Bangladesh squad led by Nigar Sultana.

For Indonesia, Lie Qiao and Kisi Kasse, who were part of the final of the China Women’s tri-series last week, missed out.

These two teams will be facing each other for the first time in international cricket. This will be Bangladesh’s first T20I game since they crashed out of the group stage of the T20 World Cup in June with two wins in five games. Indonesia, meanwhile, earned their place via the 2026 Women’s Premier Cup, topping their respective group and then winning their quarter-final to make the cut.
