Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a concussion and a fracture on a finger of his left hand. Raghuvanshi suffered the twin blows as a result of a collision with team-mate Varun Chakravarthy while attempting to take a catch in KKR’s previous match, against Mumbai Indians (MI), on Wednesday.

On the fifth ball of the 11th over of MI’s innings, Tilak Varma skied an attempted slog off Varun. While Varun moved to his left with his eyes on the ball, Raghuvanshi also rushed towards the bowler. The two eventually collided, and Varun dropped the catch on impact with Raghuvanshi despite having taken it cleanly while falling to the ground.

Raghuvanshi walked off the field four balls into the 14th over of the innings, and was replaced by substitute wicketkeeper Tejasvi Dahiya.

When KKR chased, they sent in Manish Pandey instead of Raghuvanshi at No. 3, with the latter out due to concussion. Eventually, Dahiya officially replaced Raghuvanshi as the concussion substitute in the match. Dahiya came out to bat at No. 7, when KKR required 24 runs to win in 28 balls in their chase of 148, and scored 11 off 12 balls before being dismissed by Corbin Bosch.

With 422 runs in 13 matches, Raghuvanshi is KKR’s highest run-getter this season. That includes hitting five half-centuries in 12 innings, and marks the second successive season when he has tallied 300 or more runs for KKR.

KKR next play Delhi Capitals (DC) at Eden Gardens on Sunday, in what is the last league-stage fixture of the season. While DC are out of the race for a spot in the playoffs, not only do KKR need to beat DC but also hope that other results go their way if they are to find a place in the final four.
