The BCB has withdrawn the No Objection Certificates (NOC) for Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana for the remainder of PSL 2026. Mustafizur and Rana were playing for Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, respectively, before they had to return for the Bangladesh-New Zealand ODI series at home.

After the third match, however, the BCB informed that both cricketers would not be going back for the PSL. Mustafizur was nursing a knee injury after returning from the PSL. He missed the first two ODIs against New Zealand before taking a five-for in the third in Chattogram.

“It has been decided that the player [Mustafizur] will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition,” a BCB statement said, “after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB medical team. In this regard, the board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026.”

The BCB has also decided to rest Rana, along with Mustafizur and Taskin Ahmed, for the first two T20Is against New Zealand starting next week for workload management. As a result, he too will not be available for the remainder of the PSL.

Rana was impressive for Zalmi, taking a four-wicket haul apart from being quick and accurate. He took seven wickets in four games at an economy rate of 5.42. Mustafizur took six in five at 7.17 for Qalandars.

Rana’s next assignment will be the Test series against Pakistan in May, while Mustafizur will probably play the white-ball matches against Australia in June.
